Hey there. I just killed the boss in Act 2 and there seems to be no method of transition to higher difficulty. Is it because there is none yet or what's the deal?
btw. I just spent last 11 hours playing the mod, non stop. It's the best thing that happened to D2 since Median!
Just one difficulty level?

For now, yes, it stop at the end of act 2, you cannot go futher. However, when all 5 acts will be released, there will be all 3 difficulty levels

Oh, and I was already planning to be grinding for the next x months 
. Can you estimate when all 5 acts will be ready?
Also, I have a question: what about uniques? Is collecting monster souls only way to get them, or are they dropping on their own? In my 11 hours playthrough I did see a lot of sets, but not a single unique.

No idea for acts, no, sorry, but probably a few month a least.
For unique, souls are the ony way as of now; but many uniques will drop once I've added them
