Post by Eisead » Tue Jun 04, 2002 12:56 am

I think they are because I can't download stuff.

For now, we'll just all have to deal with significant downtime (that includes me having to deal with it ;) )

I'm not sure how long it will be before Phrozen gets the download center back to what it was before in terms of functionality (when it was funky far less often)...but I do know he's working hard to finish as soon as possible.

Sorry folks...we thought we were doing a good thing when we changed recently. Live and learn, eh? {[]}

I'm starting to get the feeling that some people can't even read the damn staff announcements

I take it hosting the tools only would cause major bandwidth use, tho having most of the zips and looking at the total size, below 5MB....

If you think you could use it, I could throw what I have on a download link temp on my webserver dir @work?, only if phrozen says it's ok

Eisead> I apologize for my post last night but we were having somewhat of a behind-the-scenes crisis which is now resolved.

Put up a temporary page with some of the tools on : http://iceman.maxcom.nl/tools/

(when/if you get a resolve error, iceman.maxcom.nl ip's == 194.178.199.2)

It's not much, but it's something :roll:

And much appreciated... :)

Hopefully it will be a moot point in the near future.

Hopefully I should have the full tools section of the new file center up and running by the end of the week.

hmm, frist time I check the staff annoncements all year. :mrgreen: Hmm maybe in the future you could make some kinda of spot on the main page where it say what the newest staff annocements is.

Or maybe we should just stop being lazy, nah that will happen.

Well put it this way, if you see a new post appear in staff announcements it would be advisable to check it out. Especially considering that's where the Terms of Service updates are displayed.

Yep, I think everyone who is a regular poster at the forums should check any new posts in the Staff Announcements before doing anything else.

Alkalund's right. If a TOS change has been posted for a reasonable length of time and a member breaks it because they haven't read the TOS lately, they may still be warned, suspended or banned.
