Got some time to spare for a newbie? ;) (DC6 problem)

Post by Wolf » Wed Feb 25, 2004 6:23 pm

Hi :)

Okay so here is my problem:
I understand how to do a image to DC6 but then..

"Copy it into your data\globa\/items folder"

I dont get this? i only have..
Data\Global\Excell...

and the one for strings (LGA,ENG)

Should i create
data\global\items folder?
And if so.. how do i put in the DC6 file into the d2_patch?

I know how to do.. but what is the code?

"a data\global\items\blabla.DC6" ?

Thanks for your time!

EDIT:

Forgott my other problem

I saw somewhere how to do your char start with whatever you want. If i want my char to start with an .. lets say short sword. How do i do this? which .txt is it?

Correct. It applies to all of the folders you will create later, and they're not one or two ;)

The file ist "charstats.txt" you need.
Here is the started equippment of each class. Look at the itemX entrys.
You can simply give all items (weapons, misc and armor but no sets, rares or uniques) to the chars.

Type "box" in itemX will give the horadric-cube at startup.

For the itemLoc Codes look into the "BodyLocs.txt" file.

Wolf, you have been told once to edit your message if nobody replied instead of posting two messages in a row.

About your invisibility problem - means it doesn't have an inventory graphic. Check what image your item uses in weapons.txt, column invfile. Set it to your .dc6 name and it should work ;)

Maybe a typo? Or maybe you haven't put the .dc6 file in data\global\items? Note that you must put the filename without the extension (.dc6) in invfile column.

Yeah i got without extension.. and the dc6 file is in data\global\items

Could it be something wrong with the file? its only 873 bytes big.

Just checked my files, they're around 2 KB each, so maybe that's the problem. Try to convert it to .pcx to see what it conatins

The .PCX is about 2kb.. but .DC6 is about 800 bytes.

the file is
"edge-12" from "om-jbouley-items-2"

Dunno if it is i who is doing wrong or if it is the file.
