Deathfile's Sanctuary general site and forum info

the forum and website are finally up! thanks prhozen and aco!

for those of you who dont know, Deathfile's sanctuary website is now at www.planetdiablo.com/deathfile
if you have a map that you have made, email it to me ( deathfile@planetdiablo.com ) and ill put it up, im looking for some maps that with a different flavor than the ones i have made. you can send a map or anything else semi-map related that you have made (a tutorial, for example, would be great as well).

if you have any questions, comments, feedback, etc, on anything on the website or any of its contents, please post them in this forum. thats what this forum is for. if you have a suggestion for either a feature for an existing map or a new map, post it here. just remember not to make it too farfetched like "make a map where you have billions of treasures chests and your in outer space and all the monsters turn into vegetable pie after killing them!" However, with map editing a lot is possible.

if you have an idea for a map that would use pictures not included in the original game, such as a space station or something, please include where to get the pictures from, as i am not a graphical artist who can make them myself.

also, any map editing related questions can go here if you wish.

if you are interested in map editing yourself, download paul siramy's map editor. look at the keep and my site for tutorials, and dont forget to read the readme.

Nice work Deathfile !!
Just two notes :

1. I was thinking of making a little dos command line that take a tabulated txt file and create an entering dc6 for each line like :

mylvl.txt :

A1L1 Entering the first level
etc ...
and it output dc6 named A1L1.dc6 that reads Entering the first level.
Maybe you're interrested ?

2. Paul just ask me to produce some ds1 edition tutorial for him, would you help me ?

I know this is a pretty old topic, but how is the ds1 editing tutorial going?
I could maybe help with something if you want.

i am playing everquest now, so im not working on anything myself, but if i am emailed anything i will put it up within a few days of the email.

however, no one has sent me any maps yet, most people make them to use on their own mods.

Well, I thought it was your job to make the maps too .

Making cool maps is a first class way of encouragement.

it is, and once i start making maps again any ideas posted here will be helpful - but i dont know when that will be. sorry. i make maps because i like to, not because i have to, and do not feel like reinstalling D2 at the moment just to make a couple of maps. maybe i will start again later - when 1.10 comes out or later, or maybe when my EQ subscription expires or when my brother goes to college. i dont think there are any modmakers here who have never taken a break from D2/D2X modding since it came out.
