Ok people, we have a new mod project announced, by DDDiablo:

So, Belize assembled his army to destroy Baal. And so starts, Belize's Revenge(title).

And anything and everything. Until Diablo 2 itself gets old. Until then.... There'll be patches and updates.

I'm working on everything right now. First, I'll be learning everything there is to learn about modding at the same time putting up my web site. So, every single second on the net/comp there'll be progress.

Already done: Act1 NPC Speech changed though there are some bugs to sort out.
Added about 20 new items. 20 new uniques and sets. Tweaked the skills a bit. Do you guys know where I can find new skill icons?

Ok, Belize is my spelling of Belial or whatever. I didn't want it to be the common one. Besides, the lord of disguise can have more than 1 name right?

Anyway, I'm working on my site as fast as I can so you guys can get to see all the screenshots. Oh yes, the first beta or alpha whatever you guys want to call it will not include all of the things listed. Oh yes, do you guys know how to transport graphics from StarCraft? I want the overmind. Makes for such a cool thing. I added a few new items today. All graphics from Shadow Talon, thank you! Oh yes, I did some monster converting today and I found a really bad problem. Something keeps on messing me up. You'll find the link to the problem in my edit. Hold on.

Yes, that was along the line of my thinking. The story goes that you are a commander in Belize's army attacking Baal. (Diablo and Meph is still there because they are immortal, u know, like GOD). Anyway, Baal is suppose to have gone all lazy and created an outer shell like the Overmind and uses everyone else for his work. You destroy the shell and Belize do the rest. Oh yes, Baal is not dumb and created a hidden bomb that blows him up when he dies. So Belize dies fighting Baal. You survive and trys to make your way into power, which opens D3 mod. Lol.

Anyway, sorted out the NPC speeches and monster converting.
Oh yes, know that all of the things mentioned will not be include in version 1.

Anyway, does any of you guys know how to get the overmind? Some help would be apprieated.

Anyway, the mod is going along fine. I went back to string.tbl and sorted out all the bugs. Updated the credits page and attempted to edit some animations. Making progress everyday.

Sorry to say, I didn't work on the mod today. Instead, I worked on the web page. Very good stuff. The reason for no mod thing is that my roommate wants to reformat the old computer and so I had to put my mod stuff on a disk and take it into my new computer. It's windows XP! D2 won't load there! That totally stinks. I don't thin D2 works in XP. I should be back on track tomarrow. Thanks guys.

I've been using Windows XP for some months now and D2 works on Windows XP! I heard people having problems with D2 on Windows XP, but many could solve their problems running it in compatibility Mode. Don't know what would be the problem for you, but if you can't get it to run, try going to the properties window of D2's game.exe, and select Windows 98 in the compatibility mode box. Maybe this will work for you.

Hum...... Didn't work Alkalund. Did I mention that the computer just thinks that the CD isn't in the comp when it is. And yes, I know it is. Whatever, I'll be going back to windows 98 next. Should be done by tonight.

For some reason, the old reformated computer doesn't know what DLL files are. Hum......... Strange.

Anyway, the web site is presentable. No worries. The story is done.

I looked over the Act1 new NPC speeches and discovered that they stink. I'll have to change them again. The ever evolving Belize's Revenge.

Ah Belize is spelled Belial and he's the Lord of Lies, checked out D1 to find that out. But I'm not changing anything. The story will be in the next post.

Progress Report: Lots and lots and lots of new items. Or at least uniques and Sets. Thanks to the colby_itemcreator_v10.

Story:

It was three centuries ago. When the last of the heros came to Belize and destroyed him, for the third time. The wheel of time was a tricky thing. Everything has to happen three times, and it did. As the hero stood before Belize, with the mightly lightsabre in his hand, Belize made a confession, I am not Baal. The hero didn't stop, plunging the sword into Belize's immortal hide, wreaking the essense of the immortal one himself. Belize went into a rage but quickly fell down onto the floor, as all of his power left him. He watched helplessly as Tyreal enchanted a sword of his own, throwing it into the the WorldStone for the third time, the world spun and the wheel of time collapsed. That was the end of the WorldStone and of the wheel. All Belize could do was watch, as the mortal ran to safetly, Tyreal scuttle back to heaven and Belize layed there, on the ground, as the remains of the WorldStone fell upon him. All he could do was scream, as the remains of the WorldStone fell upon him.

Three centuries later, Belize woke from his long hibernation. Looking around, he realized what happened, realized that he had been tricked by Baal, by Baal to take the blows that was rightfully his. Understand this, he stood up, took a deep breath, and shook off the remains of the WorldStone, only to see that he is in a fence, surrounded by guards all around. A commander stepped up, looking at Belize, looking at him up and down.
She said, "Well, you don't look like Baal".
Belize chuckled darkly, "Well, looks can be decevieing couldn't it? I'm not Baal you bunch of B******ds, I'm Belize, Lord of Disguise, sent by the f*****g b*****d.
The guard nodded, "the council of elders had been talking about that for the past hundred years, hum..... They have decided what you said was true".
" Well, like no dud. Not only that, I've decided to hunt that particular b*****d to the death, until he dies."
The commander nodded again, "The council had talked about that too, they had decided to aid you in your quest, as unholy as it may be, destorying Baal would take care of the evil, destroying you wouldn't."
Belize looked insulted, but agreed. He was to be taken to the council but he decided to leave right then. Belize left, with a loyal escort to summon all his demonic brothers.

What Belize, also known as Belial, the Lord of Lies didn't know is that the council guards had planted a listening device on him, an enchantment so that they would know it if betrayed. Belize went to a secret highout, way down south. Looking over it, he could see his brothers, Iliamiz, the Lord of Betrayal, and Gliiaip, the Lord of Death. Both were astounded, looking at him like they couldn't believe their eyes. In fact, they couldn't believe their eyes, both tensed, and looked Belize over. All this while, the council was watching. The Lord of Lies walked over to his brothers, and hugged them. His brothers were finally convinced and hugged him back. Trusting him, the Lord of Betrayal launched into a speech, explaining how much they missed him. Belize nodded thoughtfully. Then, Gliiaip told Belize of Baal, who had led him into a trap. Belize got mad. Gliiaip told Belize even more about Baal, such as how Baal was hunted after the Destruction of the Worldstone and how he escaped with his life into a secret hideout that was not discovered. Belize was told of how Baal got lazy, really lazy and created a shell for him to hide into. Hiding in his hidey hole, he now launches his plan for the first time in 300 years, freeing Diablo.

The council knew that Diablo was trapped in Hell, with no portal leading into the mortal realm. Baal had created that portal and the energy of it had awaken Belize. Realizing that, the council also realized that Mephisto would also be released from his eternal prison of hell by the portal. Belize realized it at the same time and with his brothers, came to the conclusion that Mephisto was not a collabrator of Baal and that he would be an useful ally. First order of busisnnes. Belize told his brothers to prepare for battle and at the same time traveling back to the Barbarian highlands for a meeting with the council. The council carefully pretended to know nothing as Belize spoke. Granting their assistance, they sent 3 heroes to help out Belize, each going his/her own way and at different times. Belize easily found Mephisto and and went for Diablo before Baal could reach him. He found where a portal would be but found that it Baal, the lazy ass bum did the spell wrong, yes he freed Diablo, but stupidly sent him into the Tal Rasha Tomb. However, reaching the portal was not a total waste of time. There, he peered into the the portal, gasping as he realized what he was seeing. Three spinning power sources, the very thing that keep the prime evils Immortal. He reached out and smashed the blue one, destroying Destruction's Immortality. He then reached out and smashed the black one, sending shockwaves to the core of Terror's Lives. There was only one left, a red power source, powering up Mephisto. Just for good measure, he smashed it, just in case Mephisto proved uncoapritive. Smiling, Belize left the portal chamber.

The council of Barbarian elders were cheering. Happy, they settled back into their oak chairs and waited for Belize's next move.

Belize flew back to his base slowly, deep in thought. Smashing the Prime Evil's power source awoke in him as sense of his own mortatiy. He knew that nobody smashed his power source, at least non that he knew of. But somebody just might. Deciding not to take a chance, he create a clone of himself, something he was excellent at and sent the clone to the Elders. Chuckling softly, the council pretended to be fooled as the clone offered himself as Belize. The real version walked back to his base and assembled his armies, having his brothers fight. The clone told the council that they were ready and the council agreed. The council called forth its three armies. They were the Barbarian Sorceresses, Barbarian Berserker, and finally the Barbarian Druid. However, the next problem presented itself. No mortal would work with a Demon and no Demon would work with a mere mortal. Deciding this, they each went their sepeate ways, promiseing only that they wouldn't kill each other if they somehow meet and that they would be Baal's Death. The demons knew that that is not true. Belize would be Baal's death and they would honor that wish. So with this, the heroes and demons marched their sepeaate ways, toward BELIZE'S REVENGE.

That was the Prologe, now for what you do. A basic rundown of the story within the Acts.

Act1.

You're in the Amazon Islands, with a clan of bow wielders called the Isicmics. You need vital information about the location of the Tal Rasha tomb as it was forgotten. You have to kill a major rebel Mage to get to it. On your way, you recuse a council spy.

Act2.

You are in Lut Golein, near the Tal Rasha tombs. You have to find Diablo before Baal does. You find out that Baal had already found out the location and had populated the excate location source with demons. You carve your way toward there, eventually killing the Maiden of Pain who was on the side of Baal. Once in the tomb, you discover that you are too late, Baal had left behind a corrupted Barbarian council member to stop you. You kill it and headed toward Kurast.

Act3.

In Kurast Docktown, you find that Diablo had rebuilt the Durance of Hate, but transforming it into the Durance of Terror. He had also restored the chaos of the land as it was 3 centuires ago. You chase Diablo to the Durance, beating him to the portal into a sanctaury in hell. It was too late to catch Baal but you slain Diablo.

Act4.

Then, you find that Diablo had a copy of his Power Source and you take it, keeping it to destroy at the hell forge in Hell. You find that Baal had a lair and an agent in the Chaos Santuary and you destroy him and then chasing him into the Barbarian highlands.

Act5.

Finding out that this is all a wild goose chase made you very mad, as Baal is still laired in a hidden section of the WorldStone Chamber and he corrupted all the Barbarian council members as with his original plan. Baal's army is reawakening. You chase him to the Ancients Altar and you defeat the ancients. Once by one, Baal summons all the corrupted Barbarian Council members against you. You defeat them and went for Baal. After a brutal battle where Baal(who looked like the Overmind form SC) teleported a lot and summoned a lot of minions and casted a lot of spells but didnt' really do anything himself, you destroy his outer shell.

Belize's Revenge.

You stepped back as you find Belize coming toward you and Baal's remains. Belize and the weakened Baal fought a hard battle until Belize realized that Baal also had a copy of his Power Source. In his despertion to destroy it, Belize actidentally broke it instead of smashing it and all the power came out, destroying the chamber and everyone within it, which does not include you. Baal is now finally dead and so is Belize, whose Power Source Baal destroyed. You look around and realized that the most powerful person or demon on the planet is you. Smiling, you walked toward the Sun, and swore, that by the time this year is over, everything under it would be yours.

PS: Lots of Spelling mistakes and stuff. Plz be nitpicky! Lol. I don't say that often.!

Things are going a little slowly here this week and the future weeks. Don't worry though. Work are continuing even though I might not be here even once a week. Just thought that everyone should deserve to know.

Ah. Well, since this is the holidays..........
Well, at least it is in the US. Anyways I got more time than I expected this weekend and so my site's up. I had to change a lot of things, some very stupid things so that it works with the site. For example, I had to change index.htm which was the default setting for my programmer to index.html. That's why the first link on most pages don't work. You'll find the link to the site in my signture.

The previous version was in a sad condition. Now the only underconstruction page is Archival news, as nothing is old enough to be called "archival". If you'll visit, you can see all the new stuff on News page.

Well this is totally up to you, but yes, if you alter the max clvl you will need to rebalance a lot of stuff.

About the story: I like it :) Very well written, looks like you have it all planned already. The last sentence is cool: You look around and realized that the most powerful person or demon on the planet is you. Smiling, you walked toward the Sun, and swore, that by the time this year is over, everything under it would be yours. 8)

Hum....... I decided not to increase char clvl as that would be too dumb as you have to change everything even though it is unnesscerry. Not that changing it would be dumb. I've decided to make it harder anyway. Like replace the Zombie with something more deadly. Hehe. That way normal boring areas would be spiced up a bit. Change all the normal areas. My mission. The cows will get major replacement. Then they wouldn't be experience packs anymore. But actually deadly.

Well, I've decided to make all the skills non timered. There will be a great number of nerfing going on with skills. Especially firewall and metoer. Also, the mana cost will go down..........

The problem is with non-sorc mages. They don't have masteries to boost them up damage wise. The physical damage people don't have to worry, they have weapons. But what about Necros and Druids?
The problem is this. If I boost them to the point where 20 points is enough damage, then they need only 20 points in a skill. Then they would be as powerful as a finishing Sorc in late game, only the nonsorc would be as powerful in middle game. If I nerf them........ Then they would be too weak. 200 something damage hurricane by the Druid at lvl 20 late game is not good. They have no masteries to boost them to a higer lvl. Sorcs do. So what should I do?

The only thing I can think of is to stretch the required skills a bit. Like 1-8-16-28-40. I know, that's screwed. That was just an example. But something like that instead of 1-6-12-18-24-30. That would let me power up the skills and make the nonsorcs get them at a later clvl. What do you think?

Any other suggestions on the matter? Do any of what I said require hard dll editing? I hate it. My roomate is attempting to teach me some hex. This is hard............ Well, not really. I really do think that binomianl is easlier.

The other thing I could think of is getting rid of masteries all together. Hehe. That way.... Whatever, reply back soon........

Hum...... Not much of a update except that I added a counter to my main page. So, visit.......... I do want to see how many people actually goes.

Don't forget to reply to my previous post. I do need some advice. This is a very serious balancing matter (as serious as a game could get anyway).
