Welcome Back Kato (you havent been here for some quite a time) !

me and Horacer77 were play testing if its possible to fix it, so we fixed it :) we went beyond 255. we are using the 4500 version and i think that so far it works just great :)

so i think kato that horacer77 wont mind getting it to 3000 or 3650 (or whatever it was) and maybe if you can 10,000... but that is what i think. he can may choose to still make the 255 version :(

well, like you said its up to Horacer77 ;)

;) Horacer77 has said that level 255 is no longer an issue and I concur.

A shame, however, I got the game nicely balanced at 255 levels such that each character level would give you 8 stat points and 3 skill points. Now, I'll have to scale that back in order to allow the higher level cap.

Yes the server is up and running. And i have char at 300+ . Like kato said the only problem that is still present is the one he mentioned but since the sever is relatively small I have a workaround for the problem.

:P :P We are on schedule for release . . . sometime next week.

It wasn't as hard to retweak the tables as I thought it would be. Since Normal and Nightmare are pretty much the same for level255 as well as this new version - oh, which by the way - has max level set at 5000. Here is a brief rundown of the FINAL version 2 in comparison:

Version_________Max Levels___Stat/lvl__Skill/lvl__Skill Tiers______________________________
LOD-vanilla_________99_________5_______1____1-6-12-18-24-30
ZyEl V1.02A_______4500_________3_______1____6-12-24-36-48-60-72
ZyEl V2.00________5000_________6_______2____3-5-10-15-20-25-30-35-40-45-50-55-60

In order for Realm players to complete Nightmare, I had to bestow more stat and skill points per level as well as lowering the skill level tiers. All characters will max out skills when they reach level 1500 - that's a long way off.

Hell difficulty has been drastically re-modelled so that it will indeed be  Hell.

 Confirmed!

Characters from ZyEl version 1.x will NOT be compatible with ZyEl version 2.x. Furthermore, ZyEl2 characters cannot be loaded in "vanilla" LOD and cannot be loaded into other Mods. Character editors will NOT work on ZyEl2 characters either.

Everybody will have to start from scratch. ;)

 8) Ton's of new stuff, not just more of the old stuff. . . . although, there is more of the old stuff. Put it to you this way, I've had to add two more pages to the Readme.doc file.

Yeah, new stuff. You'll see something new from the moment you start a new character. Heck, even the startup page is going to be different.

For the next version the server will be reset and there will be "NO" Single Player will be brought in except one, "mine". SO don't even ask.

the fact that there will be no old chars on it is a good thing for me, since i wont be able to play till prolly the day it comes out or the day after... but one more thing, wont you hate having to change it all in 1.10 later? if you took you forever to do this then well i recomend that you tell people in a big warning NOT to download 1.10 if they wish to continue playing while you are editing it... just a word of advice.

Also there are rumors going around about 1.10 that alot of the current MPQ files when unpacked will be text files... instead of the kind it is now... doubtful but maybe blizzard has thought that since everyone and there invisible dogs have beat the game blindfolded and both hands tied behind there back with a poisonus spider in there mouth that will bite if they die... so it is possible they are opening up to the modding world... which would be sweet

Isn't 1.1 like Duke Nukem Forever; They keep telling you it'll be released soon, but they keep working on it for an eternity?

:P There are a lot of rumours going around about what 1.10 will or will not be like. I think people are going to download it in order to get on Battlenet.

For myself, I'm just hoping that they fix the bugs in the previous patch and not introduce any new ones. Fixing up Blizzard's bugs was most time-consuming. When 1.10 comes out, I'll re-mod from scratch using the ZyEl template. ZyEl3 will have the same flavour as its predecessors and probably have even more new stuff that wasn't possible before. Don't know yet. Nobody knows for sure.

Who knows? Patch 1.10 could be so good that Mods would no longer be necessary. :P :P :P Yeah, right!! And I've got a bridge to sell you . . .

Actually, you can cheat beyond the itemstatcost barricade.

Take vanilla LoD cubemain.txt. Edit a row to transmute "aqv, qty=3" -> "(name of high level elite bow),uni". Insert in data\global\excel\. Load char. Transmute three arrow quivers. Zip: overpowered elite unique.

Solution: change all item codes. This will cause these 'players' to encounter a pretty Bad Inventory Data error after their malicious deed. Hah!

Too bad you can't stop them from fishing the unique's txt name from string.tbl and entering that in the output field.

As for getting high levels fast: same deal, except they just mod monstats.txt to make zombies give 40M exp per kill.

Wha?!? Me cheating? Unless you consider trying to transfer legitly acquired items between characters in an itemstatcost.txt-modified mod cheating.

They don't need them. They can just modify the CLoD ones. They are only using them for 30 seconds at most anyway, just enough time to buy three arrow quivers and cube up Zy-El's Helm of Uber Uniqueness.

 Well, you didn't have to tell them that. :P Now they're all gonna cheat!

(you know I'm just kidding, right?)

Of course, the players can cheat - if they know how. Any Modder who knows his stuff, can hack apart the ZyEl Mod. But I figure most players won't know how to do this stuff. They're more interested in playing the game than pouring over item codes and hex-edits. That sort of stuff only appeals to a Modder.

And most are sensible to enjoy a Mod as it was meant to be, as opposed to cheating through it. At least, I think we all are. ;)
