Keep Update 10/27/2006

Post by Myhrginoc » Sat Oct 28, 2006 1:39 am

Dark things creep from the the depths of the forest and the roots of the hills. Is this a forerunner of All Hallows Eve? No, it is a good day in Sanctuary! Here at the Keep we have a collection of tricks and treats to make your soul quiver with anticipation.

A Saga of Sanctuary
Richard A. Knaak is the author of a number of novels set in Blizzard's worlds. His latest project is a trilogy about the Sin War, which occurred before the events outlined in the original Diablo. Blizzplanet organized a Q&A session with Richard and shared the transcript with us. AdiTT was our person on the scene as well.

In the Middle of Twilight
...you will find the Median. Brother Laz has done it again, with a major revision currently in open beta. Get Median 2008, and see what our Dark Brother has been up to recently. Then post your feedback in the Mods By Laz Forum. And maybe he will tell everybody why this release is Median 2008 when it is still 2006 for most of us. (By this count, we can expect 2008 will be when he releases Median 2013...)

Cobwebs and Old Tomes
Seek ye the Legacy of the Horadrim, for it is there that Quatl has scribed this edition of Sanctuary's travails. You will find version 1.5E at our File Center, then let him know how you like it in the Legacy forum. This is a significant revision, so be prepared to start anew if you have followed the mod from before.

Innocence Lost
Talonrage continues with his new project, Lament of Innocence, currently version alpha 1.03. Get it here, then let him know what works and what dies in the Requiem of Sorrow Forum.

Rediscovered Treasure
Let's face it, Diablo II is a wonderful game with some glaring faults. High on anybody's list is graphical performance, or, who turned out the lights? Long ago FoxBat created a lean and mean mod-laying machine with the D2Accelerator add-on, which we found hiding under an urn in the Halls of the Dead and present here for your viewing pleasure. It is even v1.11-compliant!

New Maps and Old
After a long quiet period, Diabolic Cartography gets an update featuring seven new map plugins. Step here to see what you can add to your vision of Sanctuary. If you aren't certain what map plugins may do for you, read the next article!

Screenshot of the Week
This week's pic is from the Pagan Heart Mod. Sanctuary gets a major facelift with many new territories replacing some of those well-traveled regions. See for yourself! If you have an interest in adding maps to your mod, stop by the Map Editing Forum.

Trick and Treat
While AdiTT was away discussing the new Sin War books, Kardon snuck in and made off with this week's winnings in the PK:OT Lottery! For his efforts he nabbed a cool $160,000 OTBucks. Could you pull this trick yourself? Play and find out!

That's all for this week. Get your goodie bags together and knock down some monster doors!

Do the right thing. It will gratify some people and astonish the rest.

My guess ist the "2008" is just a number. Could as well be 3.0124pi^e + i (or any transcendental number over any field for that matter).
