Changing Tiles/Textures and environments

Is it possible to change the tiles/textures of a certain area in D2? I have tried messing around with Levels.txt and lvltypes.txt to make the blood moor look like a cave, and have gotten negative results. Is there a specific way to do this type of editing? If not, are there .dt1 converters out there?

Yes, check the tools forum, specifically the ds1 edit tool by Paul Siramy.
