can't play the mod

i can start diablo fine, but as soon as i select my character to use it crashes.

Assertion Failure

i'm so infinitely bummed out! anyone else get this?

Did you start off with fresh 1.10 DLL's and a new char? Aside from that I've never seen this error before.

i reinstalled d2 and it works fine. i think i may have had some comflicting .dll files from other mods. incredible work on this one, by the way!

i got a problem: i d/led the mod and installed it, but when i go to play it it says it can't find the file d3d9.dll. after that error diablo still loads, but when i go to start playing with a character(i can select a character) it gives an unhandled exception. anyone else getting this? or does ne1 know how to fix it? thx.

i got that errorr, too, actually. you need to download directx9. it's a free download from the microsoft website. just google "directx 9".

Sounds like you're missing a file relating to Direct 3D (not any Diablo 2 related file). Does D2 run without any mods?

DirectX 9? Unless I'm mistaken, Diablo II requires only DirectX 7. I doubt that any mods alter the game sufficiently to require the use of DirectX 9.

that may be so, but when i downloaded directx 9 it solved the problem. i assumed the file d3d9.dll was short for "direct 3d 9".

he's right. the game may not use Direct X 9 but something in the .vbs that runs KoT does. I also d/led Direct X 9 and it fixed the problem.

Hence one of the reasons 1.07 will not be using a script. Causes problems sometimes. Like these.
