If I host in phrozen keep, how much space I get and what about bandwith and other features?

Hosting through Phrozen Keep right now means hosting through Planet Diablo, ultimately.

With that comes "unlimited" space. (I sure there ARE limits, but we've never reached them or even come close, so it's unlimited for all pratical purposes). There are no bandwidth limitations placed on hosted sites.

There are rules and requirements, of course, I don't have the full "agreement list" but obviously you cannot be operating a commercial venture, you cannot host porn, etc. The most visibly obvious requirement is that you MUST run GameSpy ad banners on every page of your site.

As for what's supported:
"Once you recieve your regular http://www.planetdiablo.com/username/ account, your site is established on a cluster of Windows 2000 servers which supports the usual HTML and SHTML along with ASP and Microsoft SQL databases. Don't worry if you use something else, you can request an account on one of Gamespy's standalone Unix boxes (which support Perl, PHP and MySQL databases) by emailing your request to hostedsupport@rt.gamespy.com."

If I want hosting, where I have to ask it?

Hosted sites must go through the Keep admins first.

We need to see some kind of basic site at least (set it up on a free webhost or something like that), so that we can make sure it's "up to snuff" for the Planet Diablo gang. Then, we pass along our recommendations to you (if we have any) so that you can adjust things.

If nothing needs changing, or once you've made necessary changes, we pass along our recommendations to PlanetDiablo and they make the final decision.

You could send an e-mail to me or to Phrozen Heart (or "cc" all the admins if you want to be efficient) with the URL to your sample site, and we can go from there.

Is it possible to host in Grotto?
If it is, how much space and bandwith there are?

Yes, if you want hosting through the Grotto, you can PM or e-mail me.

Space isn't "unlimited" but you can almost certainly get what you need for a site and whatever mod you have planned. Bandwidth isn't really an issue. Server can be a bit slow at times, esp. compared to GameSpy's, but it's a good place to start if you aren't in a position to qualify for Planet Diablo/Phrozen Keep hosting.

Hosting through the Grotto will be through the PK Incubator site, which will be sister site to Phrozen Keep. Haven't had time to work on the site this past week, but hope to have it up sometime during the coming week.

In the meantime, I should be able to get you set up with space, though you may need to access your site through the Web-based file manager for a while...I have to ask the webhost to set you up for FTP access.
