Re: [Win] ES 3.00 R4 (Mar 16) Release Info/Bug Reports
Interesting changes, Tsuru.
Metro's not going to like that Elemental Form change!
Just wondering about the idea that's been discussed about changing the base items from some of the sets that are way out of whack with the other items in those sets. For example the Lixos bow. Perhaps to a Double Bow or Cedar Bow. Their QLvls are much more in line with the other set items. As it is now, the set's basically useless.
I know there are others, as well. I'm not familiar with those, but maybe someone else can chime in....

Well, the Wiki now says a 20% damage boost per point. It was 25%. That's not too bad. Yeah, as "obsessed" as I am about EF, I think I know what build I'll choose for Logger's June tourney.

The barbarian weapon 'Rising Sun' shows incorrect stats on the database web page. Instead of giving +4-6 to zeal, the one I just gambled for has +5 to jab. Also, the one I just got has +1 to barb skills, which isn't shown at all on the database.

Re: [Win] ES 3.00 R4 (Mar 16) Release Info/Bug Reports
The damage of Hairdressers (spear cats in Andariel's Dressing Room) seems buggy. My necro has 90% Fire Resist, 361 absorb damage from Bone Armor and 1700 life. One javelin goes through the bone armor and leaves me with about 200 life. Two spears are certain death. Judging by the sound the javelin makes when it hits it has some fire damage to it.
Correct me if I am wrong, but the bone armor is supposed to prevent 1 hit KO, that is if I am hit for 1000 physical damage and I have 200 absorb damage from BA, my bone armor will 'die', but the life should not go down a single point. It doesn't say it anywhere but I always assumed Bone Armor absorbs only physical damage, so it must be the javelin's fire damage that is bugged.
I think the throwing Ancient Barbarian is/was bugged in the same way. Any way to fix it?
And 'typo of the day': Ancient Coupon 'Ballista' currently displays 'Balista'.

The database is correct, and it seems I failed to update the item, because you can't use Jab with a throwing axe.

Hairdressers deal fire damage because they are a modified version of one of Slingers in Act 5, which deal fire damage. The physical damage is much improved, but the fire damage isn't changed from the original Slinger, so I wonder why it's so hard.

Double Smash is improved instead, so it doesn't hurt Double Smash builds much. I thought Fire Maul builds are receiving too much ED, on top of the good fire damage bonus.

Re: [Win] ES 3.00 R4 (Mar 16) Release Info/Bug Reports
With both Double Smash and the synergy damage on Iron Claws improved, I think they pretty much break even damage-wise, just some defense is lost but since it still gives such a large defense boost, it's not really a big deal.
At high levels if you have both Double Smash and many points in Iron Claws' synergy, I think the total damage is actually slightly improved if you use both skills.

Excellent mod. Just a couple problems, though:
Fanatic Swing still says "Required Level: 24", though you say you lowered it to 18.
Holy bolt still pierces enemies.
Other than that, not a bad start.

Re: [Win] ES 3.00 R4 (Mar 16) Release Info/Bug Reports
Tsuru, somehow you accidentally removed the damage bonus synergy Ravens receive from Elementals. I checked and the bonus is still there for the Wolves. I hope you can fix this soon.
EDIT: Hmmm, was this intentional, Tsuru? There's no damage synergy listed in the Wiki either for Ravens. I thought Ravens use to get a damage bonus from Elementals. Am I wrong?

Player character's required experience isn't touched at all. Could it be that you crashed in the last game before the auto save, or you accidentally overwrote him with an old backup?

Oh well it's as usual, but I'm happy to hear no critical bugs so far.

In LoD, only two kinds of Wolves and Grizzlies give the passive bonus to each other. Ravens had also been given passive bonus in ES, but I removed them from the passive bonus circle, because they have no bonus to offer.
Instead, now Ravens are given a base damage almost as good as Spirit Wolves', and roughly 2/3 of Dire Wolves'. Even if the listed damage is the same, base damage has much better potential than % damage bonus. (i.e. Auras like HoW and Might doesn't help much if the base damage is low.) So you can say Ravens are rather improved.

Hi, ES players!
=======
[EDIT 3] -- Problem fixed: it must have been a buggy installation. NVM
=======
I downloaded and installed Eastern Sun 3.00 R4 today. I'm too new at the mod to have any play-balance feedback, but I did find something odd.
After getting an Act 1 Rogue Merc, I attempted to equip her. I can place all items but a belt. I put a screen shot in my album, here.
This is a clean install, no modifications or hacks or anything like that. Brand new character -- go, go, Assassin!
Everything else is OK: weapon, armor, boots, etc.; just not the belt. Like I said, odd.
=======
[EDIT] I ran another character (Druid) to see if the problem would repeat. It does. See another pic, here, if you're interested.
=======
[EDIT 2] Just tried it again; now, every non-standard item slot (non-vanilla LoD, that is) will not accept items. I suppose my installation is hosed. I'll re-install and let you know.

I only liked to make mercs catch up the character's level fast, and didn't intended to make all mercs' level 100.
I had thought their level is capped at the character's level, but actually it isn't. It will be tweaked again in the next version.

What synergy do you mean? Please post it in 3.1 plan thread.

Cold Wave is almost the same skill as Flame Wave, except dealing cold damage. Does Flame Wave cause the same trouble with your Sorceress?
Tornado damage is the same thing as the physical part of Corpse Explosion damage. Amp and CE is one of the best combo in the game, and it's also the case with Tornado.
Decrepify, Weaken, IM and Inner Sight also work, but Tornado's damage isn't attack damage, so ED% from auras like Might doesn't work.

Re: [Win] ES 3.00 R4 (Mar 16) Release Info/Bug Reports
thanks for answer- i just rolled a craft w amp for my mer in a tourney so that helps, but actually i think now that the bug might be linked to tornado.. i dunno- has anyone else ever used it exclusively as their attack.
It seems to happen after ive been playing for 5 mins- and of course by then i have spammed 100s of nados.
I went and played 15 minutes with my ama to see if it was a bug in my keyboard or something like that, but it played fine the whole time.
great mod tho tsuru- u are super duper

@tsuru,
found a bug with the Naruku Lvl 1 (normal)map, R4 patch. after killing some monsters & picking up the loot near an entryway, i got an assertion failure crash . when i restarted, and went back to the same area, i saw that the entry led to naruku lvl 1. as long as i stayed away from that area everything was fine, but trying to pick up objects near there caused another crash
if it helps, here's the relevant section from the error log
got a minor request. if you can find the time how about a special charm, similar to the -MF% charm, to cut back on FRW. my current char in the craftourney is walking and still leaves behind my merc and valk. too much FRW can be a bad thing if you are constantly leaving behind your support crew.

Re: [Win] ES 3.00 R4 (Mar 16) Release Info/Bug Reports
[quote=swevev";p="313651"]thanks for answer- i just rolled a craft w amp for my mer in a tourney so that helps, but actually i think now that the bug might be linked to tornado.. i dunno- has anyone else ever used it exclusively as their attack.
It seems to happen after ive been playing for 5 mins- and of course by then i have spammed 100s of nados.
I went and played 15 minutes with my ama to see if it was a bug in my keyboard or something like that, but it played fine the whole time.
great mod tho tsuru- u are super duper
max[/quote]
I remember you play a Sorceress, so could it be that you're talking about Twister? Or does she use oskill Cold Wave and oskill Tornado? Sorceress using two oskill damage spells sounds pointless.

@tsuru,
found a bug with the Naruku Lvl 1 (normal)map, R4 patch. after killing some monsters & picking up the loot near an entryway, i got an assertion failure crash.
[/quote]
I have received a report of the same "ptRoom->nNumClients" error in R3H, and hoped the Naraku 1 WP fix in R4 also gets rid of it. So it's a bad news that the error still remains in R4.
It rarely occurs, so it's difficult to find the cause by cut and try. I'll change some suspicious map edits in the next patch. Please report if you find any condition of the error.
Negative FRW charm is easy to implement.
